“Are the Liberals Kidding? I Wish!” Part 2

Well, are you ready for some more “questions” the House Speaker felt it necessary to ask Republicans in his recent survey? (If you didn’t read the first post on this Survey, please refer to it before reading this post.)

Honestly, I’m not criticizing Speaker Boehner for asking these questions. The “Progressives” who are in control of our federal Government, our media, our adademia, and so many of our private organizations, have so twisted the thinking of tens of millions of Americans that these idiotic ideas are beginning to sound reasonable to them! Real truths, and simple common sense, no longer prevail in our society. These questions reveal how unthinking too many of us are! They reveal that conservative-minded people have to revert back to the elementary basics of common sense and what America is all about in order to try to right the horrid conditions “Progressive Thinking” has caused. Mark it down, friend, in accurate terms, the Left’s “progressive” movements are anything but progressive!

Okay. Let’s look at another question on Boehner’s survey: “Should the federal government work closely with state and local officials to tighten border security and enforce federal immigration laws?”

Si-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-gh! How much sense does it make to have to ask if the federal government should enforce federal laws??? Do you not think something stinks in D.C. when the federal government does anything else than enforce its own laws? Forget working closely with state and local officials to do so; they should just do it! Don’t you think something is really rotten in D.C. when government officials make laws and then say they are not going to enforce them??? (i.e. the D.O.M.A.) After all, states can’t enforce federal laws, so who else should??? They are, after all, under sacred oath to uphold our national laws!!! Yet they seem to want to only enforce the unconstitutional laws while ignoring the right ones. 

It’s really a disgrace to the federal government when the states have to resort to passing their own laws so the federal ones can “happen”! And, especially, when the federal government then fights the states’ rights to protect themselves in total absence of federal enforcement.

Should the federal government enforce federal laws? DUH!!!!

Next question, under “Reforming Congress”: “Do you support the Republican proposal to require all legislation to cite its authority in the Constitution?”

Uhhhh, since the Constitution created the federal government, said government exists under the authority and restrictions of that Constitution. Right? I mean, if a charter creates any kind of entity, that entity is governed by its charter. So, just to ask if legislation should cite its Charter’s basis for itself is ludicrous, friend! It’s insanity! Yet the Speaker finds it necessary to ask this question because the “powers that be” insist on passing legislation that has no Constitutional authority!!!!! Hey! That’s a usurpation of authority not granted! And that’s treason!

So, yes, all legislation should cite its authority in the Constitution. But why would anyone even argue against this? Why would any true American have a problem with it? I say, again, that anyone who would buck such a principle must want to pass laws that violate the Constitution!!!!! WAKE UP, AMERICA!

Are the Liberals Kidding? I Wish!

I just finished filling out a “2011 Speaker’s Survey – a Project of Friends of John Boehner.” I appreciate getting to express my opinions to our national legislators, and I certainly did so in this survey. But I couldn’t help being struck by the questions the survey asked. They were, for sure, pertinent to our present crisis in our beloved U.S.A., but it is absolutely ludicrous that they even needed to be asked!

For example, “Do you believe massive government spending is the best way to improve the nation’s economy and create good jobs?”

Now, I realize the Speaker asked this to get a resounding “Of course not!” from the most of us. But think about how stupid it is for him to have to do so! Anyone with an average education from several decades ago would say, “Huh? Are you kidding?” Hey, if you and I ran our personal finances that way, what would be the result? Well, ditto for our federal government!

WAKE UP, AMERICA!

Are so many of us so “dumbed down” that they cannot even think enough to know how ridiculous such a notion is??? I personally feel insulted and intellectually raped that our “progressive” (so-called) leaders would look us straight in the eye and expect us to believe they’re serious when they claim this as a solution. I know that they know they’re lying to our faces, and hoping that we don’t know it.

But I do. And I hope you do too.

A while back, earlier in the financial collapse, a gentleman asked me in frustration, “Why doesn’t our government do something about these problems?”

I answered, “Because they are not problems to our liberal leaders. This is exactly what they want, and what they have been laying the groundwork for, over the last several decades.” And, friend, mark my word: the powers that be will do anything to keep America’s financial recovery out of reach. Mark my word!  They will not get serious about cutting runaway federal spending, and they will not really try to balance the budget. One of their top dogs has said that the way to take over a country is to bankrupt it. Look around you! That’s what they’re do-o-o-i-i-ing. And it is intentional. It’s part of their modus operandi. It helps them reach their goal! (I’ll have to look up who it was that said this.)

Ummm. What is their goal?

To destroy our American way of life and subject us to Communist rule. Do you think it’s a coincidence that our leaders have mortgaged us to Communist China??? Think again.

Next, the survey asked, “Should Republicans work to remove barriers to job creation and stop jobs-killing bills like “card check”?

I mean, “DUH!” Again, I realize why the Republican leadership is asking these questions – they are hoping most of us will cry out against these “jobs-killing bills,” and they can use our collective howl to give them the punch needed to overcome our liberal, our “progressive,” enemies. But think about this question! Who, in his/her right mind, in any other time in our history, would ask anything so crazy as “should we create jobs” when the jobless rate is so high and so many are drowning financially??? And “jobs-killing bills”? Who but a lunatic would sponsor bills that kill jobs? (I told you: Communists.) Come on! This is a no-brainer, isn’t it? To survive, we have to have jobs! Yet, in spite of all their rhetoric, our “progressive” leaders aren’t doing anything to solve the jobs “problem.” They don’t see any problem!

Then, the questionaire asked, “Should captured foreign terrorists be given the same Constitutional rights as American citizens?”

Okay, let’s take this apart. Notice the words foreign, and terrorists, and Constitutional. Dear reader, the Constitution wasn’t written for foreigners. Our Founders, unlike our (non)leaders, today, had no intention of creating a One-World Government! They wrote the priceless Constitution for U.S.! Foreigners in our country have basic human rights, of course, but no one but an American—and perhaps one who is on the legal path to citizenship—has Constitutional rights!!!!!

Then we have the word terrorists. We can think of words such as murderers, gangsters, the mafia, gangs, drug warlords, and others, that cause us to shudder, maybe even tremble, but the term terrorists brings alarm to us, and rightly so. Terrorists are mega-criminals; they cut a deep and a wide swath of terror wherever they show up.

To even toy with the idea of giving foreign terrorists Constitutional rights is insanity! It’s a kick in the face to those the Document was intended for. I’m fed up with giving “rights” to everyone but the honest, decent, law-abiding, American citizens. At every turn, we are being denied our basic inalienable rights that the Constitution was crafted to protect, yet they want to give those rights to foreigners and terrorists who are bent on destroying us.

We could put it this way: our (Marxist) leaders want to take those rights away from us, for whom they were intended, and then they want to give those rights to our outsider enemies! Incredible!

So, to sum this all up, I say again, no one in his/her right mind, in any other time in our history, would ever dream of asking if foreign terrorists should be given the same Constitutional rights as American citizens!

This survey would be a laughingstock if conditions weren’t so disastrous! It would be a comedy if we were not in the middle of such an incredible tragedy! And I’ve covered only three of the questions asked. The insanity continues; I’ll get to some more of it in my next post. Come back and read it—if you can stand it.

The Mount Vernon Statement

Hello to everyone!

Have you read or heard about The Mount Vernon Statement yet? If so, have you signed it? Have you notified all your friends and acquaintances about it yet?

The MVS is a recommitment to our Founding Principles, also known as First Principles, those basic tenets upon which this great nation was established. It is a Statement of readiness to uphold and defend those Principles. It is a call to all Patriots, all loyal Americans, to stand up and be counted as ready to insist upon those Principles in our elected officials.

It is not, nor should it be, another example of great, swelling, words that only turn out to be abandoned in principle. At least, I hope it’s not.

We are inundated with that kind of “statements.” God forbid that The MVS follow that wearisome track. I have signed The MVS in sincerity, and I urge you to do the same!

The Mount Vernon Statement was so named because it was given birth on George Washington’s estate, Mount Vernon, about one year ago. Here are a few lines of this historic document:

“A Constitutional conservatism based on first principles provides the framework for a consistent and meaningful policy agenda.

• It applies the principle of limited government based on the rule of law to every proposal.
• It nonors the central place of individual liberty in American politics and life.
• It encourages free enterprise, the individual entrepreneur, and economic reforms grounded in market solutions.
• It supports America’s national interest in advancing freedom and opposing tyranny in the world and prudently considers what we can and should do to that end.
• It informs conservatism’s firm defense of family, neighborhood, community, and faith.

If we are to succeed in the critical political and policy battles ahead, we must be certain of our purpose. We must begin by retaking and resolutely defending the high ground of America’s founding principles.”

That sounds like the “old America,” the original America, does it not? If these words resonate in your being, friend, go and sign The MVS. But realize that you are making a commitment, and be ready to stand by it.

Hey, do you know what? If enough of us sign this pledge, intending to stand by it, maybe . . . just maybe, we’ll see our beloved Country rise from her death bed!

Back on the Job

Hello, dear reader. If you look around this blog, you will see that I have not posted for a long time. However, I am back at it, with more zeal than ever. I’ve been plagued by illness and “overload,” but hope that things are smoothing out at last.

If anything, the political arena is even more alarming than it was the last time I posted here. Friend, we’ve been taken over! It’s no longer a matter of “if,” nor even of “when.” The take over has happened. We are presently under tyranny. Our leaders on the Left have for decades plotted, and our leaders on the Right have for decades facilitated, in our overthrow, and now the job is done.

The newly elected Republicans are beating their heads into the proverbial wall with efforts to turn things around, I’m afraid. I’m not doubting their intent or purpose; they may be really sincere; but the system is so broken that they will not be able to succeed. It is my opinion that any “stand” they try to take will result in their being so ridiculed by the Left and their Media cronies that they will back off in order to win the next election. Mark my words and keep your eyes open.

As I said, the system is broken. Not damaged; not impaired; it is broken. Do I mean the traditional American system of government? NO! I mean the total mess that claims to be such. You may wonder what I mean, so I’ll explain.

Do you think Abraham Lincoln could be elected today? I don’t, and here’s why. To be elected today, one has to have the biggest campaign coffers, either his own money or the wealthiest backers. Since Lincoln would not be wealthy, the Republicans would fear him as unelectable and fail to back him themselves. Since there are so many in the running, some will get support and some will not, and Lincoln likely would not be the pick. Why? For one thing, he would be against feminism and their abortion industry. Second, he would be against same-sex marriage. He would work to disband the ACLU, and bring some sanity to our (non)”Justice System.” He would be for punishing lawbreakers, and he would most certainly close our borders and ban the employment of illegal aliens. He would reinstitute God’s rightful place in the public square, and tell these Leftist Lunatics what the “establishment clause” really means. (We will examine this in a later post.) He would sweep all the Marxists out of our colleges, and probably execute them for treason. He would open Barack Obama’s records, and if BHO is, indeed, guilty of perpetrating one massive and hideous fraud upon the citizens of this nation, he would hang him.

He would kick out the United Nations, since they are united against America and her sovereignty, and are continously and fervently trying to destroy that sovereighty. He would send all of our financial “experts” to the moon and give us some who actually practice what good economics dictates. He would tell the Islamists in America that they can freely worship here, but that they can in no way impose upon America their sharia law or agitate in favor of Allah.

He would kick out the Department of Homeland Security, and certainly the TSA, and imprison any who had a part of  devising airport/bus/??? screenings of regular Americans while Islamic women get largely ignored as passengers.

He would get rid of frivilous lawsuits and — oh, for sure, he would get rid of lawsuits against those who simply exercise their consciences or their religious rights. The states, too, would be given back control of schools, and the schools would no longer be focused on brainwashing our children into dumbed-down liberal parrots.

I could go on and on. No. Abraham Lincoln could not win the Republican nomination today. He would not be politically correct enough, I’m afraid, even for the so-called Conservatives who run the GOP machine.

Our system is broken because, not only is it nigh impossible for a “common” man to win a national election — when our Founders wanted citizen statesmen, not career politicians — but Government of, by, and for the People has perished at the hands of powerful and wealthy special-interest groups and their massive campaign contributions’ power to sway the Elected. THIS was NEVER in our Founders’ plans.

Our system is broken because politicians look us right in the eye and lie, take oaths of office they know they won’t keep when they take them, and deliberately deceive for their own, and their agendas’, sakes. Honestly, if our Founders could somehow see what has been done to their beautiful Plan, they would die a million times over again.

Our system is broken because the News is never told by the Mainstream Media, and the people are grossly uninformed and misinformed. They only read/watch/hear what the Government News wants them to believe, and that’s just more deception. As I’ve stated in other posts on this blog, whenever someone expresses an opinion contrary to the PC one, they are fired, vilified, or otherwise dismissed.

Do you think I’m too harsh? Well, I’m only going by what I’ve observed. For too long the Republicans have been more worried about winning elections than about principle (following the lead of the Domocrats, for sure). They have been too worried about the political fallout to offer their Conservative base a genuine choice in national elections. I’ve often said it, and I’ll repeat it here: Knowing we true Conservatives cannot afford to “split the vote” by voting for more Conservative candidates in a third party, they are holding us hostage. We cannot leave, so they by and large ignore us.

I do believe the Congressional election in 2010 gave a different picture, thanks largely to the Tea Party Movement. It raised my own hopes, I admit. Yet, as I said above, I don’t think it’s going to work in the long run. The price is just too high, politically, and that is still going to be the crux of things, in my view. The few who would stand, will probably be swept aside and “forgotten.”

What’s the answer, then, you ask? Well, I’ll address that next time. Till then, be honest, be honorable, and be American!

Bad Links

I admit that I didn’t check the links in the “Why We Are Bankrupt” post before I posted it. When I did check them, I found that several of the links no longer take one to the indicated articles.

I apologize for the oversight. However, the information given through the “working” links is so vital and so relevant that I’m leaving the post on this blog.

Indeed, I urge you to follow those links and read the information given. Tell all your concerned friends to read this information as well. There is an old saying that being forewarned is being forearmed. There is also one that says ignorance is bliss.

Without a doubt, we need to be forewarned, but believe me, ignorance is NOT bliss. It is the portal into destruction! For if we don’t know our enemy, we certainly cannot protect ourselves from him. And, friends, we have enemies today. Many of them pretend to “represent” us in Congress.

Reading the information given through the links in the “Why We Are Bankrupt” post will clearly show that our government has abandoned all serious intentions of protecting us. I started to say they’ve abandoned all pretense of doing so, but NO. They are pretending all right. However, that’s all they are doing — pretending.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: America the Beautiful is in her death throes. Her own leaders, not an outside enemy, has brought her to this point. Only a miracle will save us, I’m afraid.

Fairness???

Two boys in the same class at school, Jerry and Howard, were competing for class president. Both were popular among the students and the staff, and the contest promised to be an interesting one. As the campaign neared its close, there were three final events in which the candidates were to compete before the votes were cast. These three events were, first, a question-and-answer session in the school auditorium; second, a half-page “ad” in the school’s weekly newsletter; and, third, a five-minute speech over the school P.A. system, given during home room on election day.Things had moved along smoothly throughout the contest, but toward the end, the Principal of the school, who was partial to Jerry, planted selected students in the question-and-answer assembly and, as moderator, monopolized the time for his candidate.

Next, the Principal, through promises and subtle threats, coerced the newsletter’s student editor to reduce Howard’s ad to an eighth-page, while keeping Jerry’s half-page in size. This resulted in some of Howard’s key campaign points being dropped from his ad.

Finally, on election day, Jerry was given seven-and-a-half minutes for his speech, and when it was time for Howard’s speech, the P.A. system “suddenly developed technical difficulties” and Howard’s speech never got aired. When the votes were tallied, Jerry won by a very slim majority.

Many students and staff members were angry over the obvious tampering with the campaign events, but when they protested, the Principal denied any improper activity and insisted that, in spite of their “perceived” inequities, the class election had been more than fair. They ought, after all, to be satisfied with what they got, he said.

Rumors next ran through the school saying that the votes had been miscounted, and when a recount was requested, the Principal refused. A group of parents took the matter to the School Board. However, that particular Principal was from a minority group. The Board feared that an investigation, and any subsequent action, would be seen as racist, and the matter was officially dropped.

How do you see the above incident, friends? Is your sense of fair play frustrated? It should be. Such blatant favoritism and fraud is outrageous. But the above story is fiction. It never happened. The reason I gave it is to stir up your sense of what’s fair and what’s not.

Why? Because a very similar situation is about to take place in our federal government. It is just as unfair as the above story, and just as outrageous. What is it? The so-called Fairness Doctrine. (Have you noticed how liberals always clothe their proposals in flowery expressions?) The Fairness Doctrine is anything, and everything, but fair.

How’s that, you ask? Well, in the story above, the Principal claimed that, even though three out of three events were skewed in Jerry’s favor, Howard’s people had no reason to claim unfair treatment. This is exactly how the liberals feel about media exposure. They already control the TV and print media, but they are determined to control talk radio as well. And they call this fairness!!! Having two out of three, to them, is not unbalanced in their favor. It is not unfair! No; the fact that conservatives control one out of the three – only one – is what is “unfair” to them!!! So they have to correct it with the “Fairness“ Doctrine, which will shut down conservative talk radio. (The “Fairness” Doctrine was abandoned years ago exactly because it had been found to be unfair!)

All honest people ought to be outraged over this. Even if you are a Democrat, if you have a sense of fair play, you ought to see the wrongness, in a country that has always championed fair play, of this outrageous move. Liberals claim to champion diversity, but they do not, for one moment, even tolerate it when it comes to allowing conservatives to have a voice. So much for diversity, so much for tolerance, two “virtues” they love to rant about being all for.

Just like the Soviets, when Communism reigned in the U.S.S.R., the liberals have their very own moral code. In the U.S.S.R., if it promoted Communism, it was right; if not, it was wrong. No other principles mattered. It is this way, today, with the liberals. They will lie, cheat, deceive, coerce, anything, to forward their agenda, and principles of right and wrong, of fair and unfair, have no place in their thinking.

This “Fairness” Doctrine issue clearly slows a very alarming trait of liberals. That is their determination to control what Americans think and believe. By silencing all opposing voices and being the only source of information, they can effect a nationwide brainwashing over time. THIS IS THEIR GOAL, my friends. That’s why they are hard at work in the schools. They are bent on training up whole generations of liberal thinkers. Our schools and colleges are about 90% liberal right now. If they can shut off conservative talk radio, their task of mind control will become much, much easier.

If you saw the story, in the beginning of this post, as unfair, you ought to see what the liberals are doing as unfair. I appeal to your sense of fair play! No matter what your political party, you ought to care deeply about anyone taking almost total control of the minds of a whole nation.

Our Present Crises

Our local news just carried an account of a middle-aged man found dead with his elderly father. A preliminary investigation indicates that the son was disabled and unable to work, and that his house was being foreclosed on. Firefighters were called to his furiously burning home, where they found “accelerants,” items that strongly indicated that the fire had been purposely set. Going to the father’s house, then, to further investigate, they found the man and his father dead. It appears the man had grown despondent over his financial problems and, since he seemed to be one who looked after his father, committed a murder/suicide after torching his house.

In this time of financial disarray, we’ll probably see more of this kind of thing. It is tragic. But to me, the far more tragic thing is that the economic disaster we are in is wholly man-made. Our financial leaders have become masters at mismanagement and irresponsibility. And our government leaders, so totally bent on turning the United States into a socialist country, are offering non-answers. This is because, to them, this disaster is not really a problem. It is a welcome opportunity to forward their agenda, and they are working hard at just that.

But it goes even deeper than that. The greatest guide for the present and future is the past. This nation was founded as a God-fearing and Christian nation. A lot of people argue this point, but they argue it knowing that a lot of other people don’t know the facts and can be duped. After all, our public schools stopped teaching the true foundation of America a long time ago. That, too, was part of a master plan to change the nature and course of our country.

But any open-minded look at the documents that sprang from our founding will show, without any possible honest denial, that we were founded as a Christian nation. These documents are readily available to anyone who chooses to know the truth. But, over time, God has been pushed farther and farther into the shadows in this country, until it is now almost a crime to mention His name. At the same time, many other gods are becoming prominent in our society.

It is not strange, then, that we should lose God’s blessings. The Bible says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17). And we read these sobering words in Deuteronomy 6:10-15: “[w]hen the Lord . . . shall . . . give thee great and goodly cities . . . and houses full of all good things . . . and wells digged . . . vineyards and olive trees . . . when thou shalt have eaten and be full; Then beware lest thou forget the Lord . . . .     [l]est the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and [He] destroy thee from off the face of the earth.”

In Deuteronomy 28 God told Israel all the blessings He would bestow on them if they would do right. Verse 8 says, “The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto . . . .” Then, verse 11 says, “And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground . . . .”

For decades, America was blessed in her storehouses and in all that she set her hand unto. Truly, she has had abundance, and has fed the world. Verse 12 tells how God would enable Israel to lend to many nations, but not have to borrow. But farther on in that chapter, God described how He would withdraw His blessings if Israel turned from Him. He said, “Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store. Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine [cattle], and the flocks of thy sheep. Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The Lord shall send upon thee cursing . . . in all that thou settest thine hand unto . . . because . . . thou hast forsaken me.”

Today, America (mis)uses God as if He were a fire extinguisher, keeping Him on the shelf, as it were, until they need Him. Look at how prayer was revived on 9-11. People everywhere were calling on God. Why? Because they were afraid our enemies would wreak more havoc on us. But it didn’t take long until America was back to crying “Foul!” every time God was mentioned.

This blog is entitled, “The Late Great U.S.A.” My friends, as a nation, we are nine-tenths dead. And I am not a pessimist. I have survived some severe situations, and I have kept my cheerful attitude. But neither am I a blind optimist. I am a realist. And the handwriting is definitely on the wall in our beloved nation. I am terribly burdened for America. Though my personal attitude stays cheerful, my heart is extremely heavy because of the reality that I see coming.

Is there a remedy? Not from government. Our present leaders don’t see a problem, as I said earlier. All the chaos we are seeing just fits into their scheme and gives them the means to change the face of this nation, which they are doing through the “answers” they are giving us today. Government takeover of everything! That’s their goal. It’s called socialism, a system that has failed everywhere it’s ever been tried. Its score is zero. Yet these blind leaders are so sure that they are smarter than those who tried it in other times and places, and they are determined to bring its disaster to us. But it will fail here too, because it is a flawed system. It doesn’t work because it cannot work.

Is there a remedy? Not from our financial leaders. That they cannot make decisions that generate real answers is evident by the decisions they’ve been making for decades and that have resulted in our present meltdown. Wisdom cried out, “Disaster is coming!” But they didn’t heed. Their personal agendas overrode wisdom and prudence.

But there is a remedy. It’s found, again, in God’s Word: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

If we become, again, a God-fearing people, we will again be blessed in all we set our hands unto. But if we persist in our godlessness, as a nation, we can only be cursed. Things will continue to unravel. People will continue to despair and suicide will climb. It is inevitable, friends.

I don’t have much hope that America will turn back to God. History reveals that all the great civilizations that have gone before us have followed fixed cycles that run from high moral standards and right living, through prosperity, then apathy, then moral decline, and finally annihilation. It’s a fixed principle. It won’t change for us, and if we don’t change, we’ll be THE LATE GREAT U.S.A. 

 

THE LATE GREAT FREEDOM OF SPEECH

You know, we really are losing our freedoms in this country. This is not a myth or a figment of “deranged conservative imaginations.” And I never cease to be amazed at how biased those who are politically correct can be. Let’s face it, folks. Today, freedom of speech often only exists for liberals. Conservatives, and especially Christian conservatives, are simply not allowed to speak out.

Case in point: Crystal Dixon, an African-American Christian, recently wrote a very respectful opinion piece for a local newspaper, and she was fired from her job. This, even though she had been an excellent employee who’d received honors and promotions for a job well done.

What was her “crime”? She simply expressed an opinion that is not politically correct. She was not vindictive, harsh, demeaning, or insulting. But she held a view that radicals didn’t like. And she paid the price for daring to think outside the radical leftist box.

Just how did she think? She thought it was incorrect to say that the “struggle” of homosexuals to be recognized as “equals” was comparable to the struggle African Americans endured to gain equal rights. And, HEY, whether you agree with her or not, she still has the right to express her opinion without being persecuted for doing so. After all, those on the other side of the issue certainly express their feelings freely.

But think about it. Blacks often couldn’t get good jobs. Homosexuals work in some of the highest-level jobs there are, both in prestige and in pay. Blacks couldn’t ride in the front of the buses. Homosexuals can sit anywhere they please on any public conveyance. Blacks couldn’t drink out of “white” drinking fountains. Homosexuals have never been banned from a water fountain. Blacks couldn’t go into a store and try on clothes. Retailers “couldn’t” sell anything they wore, so they had to save their meager funds and hope they bought the right size. If they happened to miss their guess, they certainly couldn’t take it back for an exchange. That wasn’t allowed either. Homosexuals can try on anything they please, and exchange anything they please. Blacks would go to a lunch counter or restaurant and sit for “ever” before getting served, if they ever did. They would watch any number of white people come in after they did, who got prompt and friendly service while they sat there being ignored and scorned. Homosexuals are among those who got the prompt and friendly service. Blacks were not welcome in most neighborhoods, and when they managed to move into some, property values actually dropped! How demeaning! Homosexuals may run into a few problems, such as when Christian landlords feel unable to rent to them, but they face nothing on the scale the blacks faced.

For homosexuals to say that their “struggle” is comparable to that of African Americans is ludicrous. They enjoy a standard of living so much superior to that the black folks had to endure that there simply can be no comparison. And, after all, they face their problems because of their own choices, not because of chance. 

That’s another point Crystal Dixon made in her opinion piece. She said that she cannot wake up tomorrow and not be black. I know homosexuals scream to the high heavens that they are what they are by nature and not by choice, but it doesn’t fly. There are many homosexuals who leave that lifestyle. Besides, if people are born “that way,” and do not choose to be, why are they working so hard to convince our school children that they should choose to be “gay”? Again radical hypocrisy is neck-deep here!

Since black people cannot decide to not be black, Dixon resented the comparison of struggles as similar. Being something by choice really, honestly, cannot be compared to being something with no choice whatsoever. Now, Dixon isn’t sorry she’s black. She’s happy with what she is. But she feels her race is ill served by the assertion that homosexuals are involved in a similar dilemma as that her people went through.

I wholeheartedly agree. The homosexual “lifestyle” is highly questionable at best, and dangerous at worst. After all, it’s undeniable medical fact that by far the largest portion of the AIDS crisis comes from homosexual behavior. And there are several other health risks attached, as well. They can grind their teeth in rage if they want to, but this is still true. Trying to say their “struggle for acceptance” is comparable to that of our African American friends is an insult to the latter. Blacks were people, and should have been accepted on the same level as other people. However, homosexual behavior is not the norm, and should not be seen as the norm. There simply is no comparison between these two situations.

Back to the thought of our freedom of speech. Does it not alarm you that people cannot express an opinion in this country today, unless it fits into the mold of liberal-think, without being punished??? Crystal Dixon had an outstanding work record. She should never have been fired for having, and expressing, an opinion! That had nothing to do with her ability to do her job. Oh, I believe her employer claimed her opinion would have negative effects on her job performance, but her very job performance proves this is not true. How? Because, as a Human Resources exec, she hired homosexuals and worked well with them. This is where the proverbial rubber hit the road. She proved every day that she has no personal animosity toward homosexuals. She simply believes the assertion that their “struggle” is comparable with that of her people is erroneous. How sad that in America today, such belief is not allowed, and to express it is criminal.

Ominous Skies Overhead

In looking up at the figurative “skies” that America lives under, I see a rather ominous cloud forming. President-elect Obama’s choices, so far, for his cabinet members leave me a bit jittery. Make that more than a bit. A whole lot more. Why?Well, for starters, his choice for Attorney General was Number Two in command in Janet Reno’s Justice Department, and a lot that happened under Reno leaves me shuddering. Secondly, his choice for Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, was co-president in charge of Reno’s Justice Department. So, this leads to the obvious question: Is Obama gearing up for an administration where abuses are perpetrated upon the American citizenry such as were dealt out under the Clintons and Janet Reno???

Don’t remember the atrocities of the Reno Justice Department? Well, here’s a quote from an article that refers to that dubious entity: “As James Sanders, my partner on the TWA Flight 800 investigation, can attest, silencing whistleblowers through bogus prosecution was the modus operandi in the Holder era” (Jack Cashill).

Do you understand that? It means that the U.S. Justice Department, under Reno – and more importantly – under Eric Holder, committed acts of gross injustice in order to silence those who learned and might tell the truth about our nation’s leaders! Bogus prosecution means downright deceit and misuse of power! With Eric Holder at the helm of Justice, honesty and integrity in Government are hardly likely to flourish, and honesty and integrity in our citizens are subject to prosecution (more like persecution)!
